North Queensland Cross Country Championships - Whitsundays

The 2026 North Queensland Cross Country Championships are hosted by the Whitsunday Running Club on behalf of Athletics North Queensland (Queensland Athletics and Athletics Australia’s representatives in the north). The championship is held in the Whitsunday Regional Sports Precinct, Cannon Valley between Proserpine and Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays.

The North Queensland Cross Country Championships consists of the following races:

Race One: Tarkine 10km

Open Men and Women

Race Two: Whitsunday Regional Council 8km

Men 20 and under, Masters Men 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-69

Race Three - 6km

Boys 18 and under, Women 20 and under, Masters Women 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+, Masters Men 70+

Race Four: Shokz 4km

Girls 18 and under, Girls and Boys 16 and under

Race Five: Momentum High Risk Training 3km

Girls and Boys 12 and under, Girls and Boys 14 and under

Race Six- 2km

Girls and Boys 11 and under

Race Seven - 1km

Girls and Boys 6 and under, Girls and Boys 8 and under, Girls and Boys 10 and under

Race Eight - 6km (Relay)

All Ages: 3 team members with a minimum of 1 female: Each team member runs 2km
